Wisconsin Classic Stage is Milwaukee's dedicated classical repertory company. We stage the great works of the dramatic canon with uncompromising craft, luminous textual clarity, fearless contemporary resonance, and rigorous actor training. We believe that clear, honest engagement with these ancient texts is our responsibility to the present. By bringing these timeless stories vividly to life, we illuminate urgent modern truths, challenge the mind, stir the heart, and create theatre that endures in the memory.

We believe that training is the core habit that makes an effective actor. We only work with actors who are committed to training and willing to grow through professional development for themselves and the ensemble. Through rigorous, ongoing training, we help performers bring centuries-old language to life with freshness, truth, and electrifying presence. All our training is affordable, supported by scholarships, and offered with non-fixed pricing so that financial barriers never stand in the way of growth. Actor development is the beating heart of our company.
